Peavey Audition 30 #6a-02714132 |
The Peavey Audition 30 is a small, solid-state, practice amp. The
output power is rated at 22 watts. The speaker is a 10 inch speaker in an
open-back cabinet. The control panel layout includes (from the left):
- two instrument input jacks,
- two gain controls (pre and post),
- two pre-set tone selection switches (saturation and thick),
- 3-band EQ (low, mid, high),
- a pre amp output jack,
- a headphone jack (that does not disengage the built-in speaker), and
- a power switch.

I like the sound of this amp for acoustic-electric instruments with
piezo-electric pickups; I particularly like the sound that it makes with
semi-solid acoustic-electric guitars like the
Godin Acousticaster.
I can't, however, recommend it for regular electric guitars. Peavey's
newer solid-state amps, with their trans-tube technology are much
better for electric guitar.
