Fender Concert
Fender Concert #F 415777

This early 80s blackface amp blows 60 watts through one 12 inch speaker. Specifications for this amp were written by Paul Rivera; the design was done by Fender Engineer Ed Jahns.

The Concert has many of the features of Paul Rivera's own amps, like cascading gain controls and an effects loop with gain controls on send and receive.

`Rique picked up this amp in a pawn shop for $285: Who says you can't own a great all-tube amp for cheap?

There's more about Paul Rivera, Ed Jahns and the history of Fender amplifiers in The Fender Amp Book by John Morrish. The The Fender Amp Book tells the history of Fender amplifiers from Leo's first amps (with designs copied from the RCA tube catalog) in the 1940s, right up to the Custom Shop amplifiers of the 1990s. Unlike some other books that focus strictly on tube amps of the 50s and 60s, this book has plenty to say (good and bad) about more recent amps and the Fender solid state line.
